What's Your Story On Infertility?

I’ve recently been developing an idea for a new book. A fictional fantasy twist on infertility. And like any good writer, I’m doing my research. Now, personally, I’ve faced infertility for over a decade and have my own experience. But there is so much pain and suffering out there that needs to be read and heard. I want to gather other’s experiences and I want to breathe a hope in their tragedy—even if it’s fictional. I want to create the dreams that so many of us have that we can’t have in reality.

In doing this I’m finding other books out there. Books like, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman, and Where I Lost Her by T. Greenwood. But I came across one that gave me more of that Hunger Games vibe: Blue Ticket by Sophie Mackintosh.

It’s about a society that controls women’s fertility. On the first day of your first bleed, you report to a station to learn what kind of woman you will be. A white ticket grants your marriage and children. A blue ticket grants you a career and freedom. And once you take your ticket, there is no going back.

Already I feel the tension between each of these words.

Anyways, I wanted to share these books with you. They are already on my kindle waiting to be read. Maybe one of them will interest you.

And if you or anyone you know have lived the emotional journey of infertility and want to share your story with me, go to my contact page and send me a message. I would love to talk with you. If anything we can offer each other comfort and understanding. Believe me, the empty void is painful and numbing but knowing you’re not alone offers relief.
